Brilliant and blooming. On the evening of September 19th, the opening ceremony and first lesson of the 2023 freshmen of the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering were held at Zhihong Hall. Fan Junhui, Secretary of the College Party Committee, Li Yuanyuan, Deputy Secretary and Dean of the College Party Committee, Zhao Xiaoli, Vice Dean, Wang Xiaojun, Vice Dean, Gao Yongbin, Class Supervisor Representative, Alumni Representative, Student Guidance Representative, all counselors and teachers, and all 2023 freshmen attended the ceremony together. The ceremony was presided over by Zhao Mengying, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee.
The opening ceremony of this school year is divided into three chapters: "Wisdom for the Future, Empowerment for Setting Sail, and Youth for the Party". Seven interactive, immersive, theoretical, and practical gold courses are presented to the 2023 freshmen from different perspectives, including "Party Joining Enlightenment Course, Electrical Institute History Course, Model Worker Spirit Course, Professional Development Course, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Course, Patriotic Education Course, and Freshman Ideological and Political Course". The ceremony began with the solemn sound of the national anthem.
Secretary Fan Junhui, titled "Devoting Our Youth to the Dream of Rejuvenation", brought enlightenment education for new students to join the Party and introduced the historical mission of Shanghai as the birthplace of our original aspiration and the city of glory. With the spirit of struggle of the older generation of revolutionaries and scientists such as Li Bai and Qian Xuesen, we call out the call of the times, and with the power of peer models, we hope that everyone will have a youthful heart towards the Party and make contributions to the new era. At the same time, it also issued a call to 2023 freshmen to join the CPC in the birthplace of the Party, and let them practice the youth oath with practical actions.
Dean Li Yuanyuan told the 2023 freshmen about the development process of the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. After 45 years of development, the School has become a team of teachers with firm beliefs, noble professional ethics, and excellent business skills, providing a broad stage for students to achieve outstanding development and making sufficient preparations.
Professor Wang Guozhong, the executive vice president of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Research Institute, who is a member of the model worker and the Shanghai model worker spirit promotion group on campus, told about his life experience and hoped that students would become new era college students who are "diligent, realistic, innovative and dedicated" through four years of efforts. And using "iclass" to interact with classmates, everyone left messages expressing the courage to innovate, dare to work hard, and shape themselves into innovative talents.
